ORANGE PUNCH
MINTED APPLE DRINK

CIDER PUNCH


Non-alcoholic drinks

ORANGE PUNCH

Serves 6

INGREDIENTS

100 ml. lemon juice.
200 ml. orange juice.
500 ml. Ginger Ale.
500 ml. soda water.
Sugar dissolved in a small amount of hot water.

METHOD

Mix all the ingredients together in a jug.
Serve with ice cubes and slices of orange or lemon.

MINTED APPLE DRINK

Serves 4

INGREDIENTS

2 large sweet apples.
150 ml. water.
Juice of a lemon.
100 gm. sugar.
4 mint leaves.
4 ice cubes.
4 drops green colouring.

METHOD

1. Peel and core the apples.
2. Place in a liquidiser or food processor.
3. Blend for at least 30 seconds.
4. Strain into glasses.
5. Serve with a sprig of mint.


Cold party drinks

PINEAPPLE DELIGHT

INGREDIENTS

I large can pineapple chunks.
Half a bottle sparkling Moselle.
2 bottles still Rhine wine.
300 ml. soda water.

METHOD

1. Sprinkle the pineapple and juice with caster sugar.
2. Cover with hock.
3. Leave to stand for 30 minutes.
4. Pour in the Moselle, Rhine wine and soda water.
5. Add plenty of ice cubes.

SHERRY CUP

INGREDIENTS

1 litre dry or cream sherry.
3 litres lemonade.

METHOD

1. Crush ice cubes in the bottom of a bowl.
2. Pour in the sherry.
3. Add the lemonade.


Hot punches

NEGUS

INGREDIENTS

1 litre boiling water.
2 bottles ruby port.
15 ml. white sugar.
Juice of 2 lemons.
Grated rind of 1 lemon.
10 ml. powdered cinnamon.

METHOD

1. Pour all the ingredients into a bowl.
2. Heat in a saucepan or microwave.
3. Serve immediately.

CIDER PUNCH

INGREDIENTS

2 litres cider.
2 oranges.
1 lemon.
1 piece root ginger.
1 sprig rosemary.
200 ml. rum.

METHOD

1. Cut the oranges in half and stick in the cloves.
2. Slice the lemons.
3. Crush the ginger.
4. Pour the cider and rum into a bowl.
5. Add the rosemary.
6. Heat until simmering in a pan or microwave.
7. Stir in sugar to taste.

Enjoy the drinks.
